On January 28, 2010 Station 16-1 was dispatched to the scene of a motor vehicle accident involving 2 car and a telephone pole. Upon his arrival, the Chief announced a working brush fire, approximately 100’ x 100’. Both the Chief and the 2nd Asst. Chief tried to slow the advance of the fire with water cans until the first due engine was able to stretch a line.
It appeared that the pole supporting power lines may have snapped due to heavy winds and a live wire may have come in contact with dry grass and brush causing the fire.
